Buurtwag
Buurtwag is a new South African 13 part dramedy television series about the motley collection of characters in a modern neighbourhood watch. It was filmed in May and June 2015 in Cape Town and is set to air on the 30th of September. It follows a young couple, Johan and Yolandie Bester, who shortly after they move to Cape Town for security reasons learn the hard way that the Cape hasn't been spared the recent crime wave. After their house is burgled while they're out camping, the Besters are drawn into the notorious Don Mostert's neighbourhood watch where they meet a supporting cast of characters that only an environment with a sense of humour like South Africa's could throw together. The Besters become part of a community in a time where communities are scarce and learn that survival is a teamsport, that security is found in people not in places and that flying flatscreen televisions cause concussions.
